UCSD's Department of Economics is seeking applicants for the positions described below. Applications will be received starting November 2nd. The Department is participating in the EconJobMarket.org system for the submission of applications and letters of reference. The University of California, San Diego, Department of Economics expects to have temporary lecturer positions available for the 2008/09 academic year, contingent upon funding, primarily in macroeconomics, operations, and econometrics, although applications will be accepted for any area. Appointments will likely be part-time, possibly full time, from one quarter up to one year’s duration. Some of these positions may be renewable. Candidates should have a Ph.D. in economics, experience managing large classrooms (100-300 students) and outstanding teaching qualifications. Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience based on published UC pay scales.
Candidates must provide vita, 3 original letters of reference (sent under separate cover), and a sample of the applicant’s work. Applicants are also invited to provide comments about their leadership activities and/or contributions to diversity.
